The Filarmonica Sestrese, association of solidarity and social promotion, has carried out for 175 years its activity in the musical and cultural fields.
Established in 1845, it has been a leading protagonist in the Genoese cultural outline all its life, it plays several concerts in the main theatres in the city of Genoa, it works together with a number of dramatic production and it takes part in several music festivals and competitions both in Italy and abroad.
The association music school, which counts more than 200 people enrolled, includes courses beginning from the age of 3, forms of every woodwind and brass, percussion instruments, piano and guitar; the main aims of the association are the education of musicians who will be introduce in its flutes orchestra, consisting of about 70 people average aged less than 25.
The Filarmoncia Sestrese's repertoire includes different music genres: symphony, opera, jazz, pop and soundtrack. In the past ten years the “Filarmonica Sestrese” has released two CDs and two biographies
